There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
--JOHN LENNON lyrics - "In My Life"

Me, on Mama's lap, at a church Christmas dinner. I was about two. My brother sits at the end of the table, and Daddy sits beside Mama, a flower in his lapel. I think this is the only picture ever taken of the four of us together, circa 1942.
"By a departing light
we see acuter, quite,
than by a wick that stays.
There's something in the flight
that clarifies the sight
and decks the rays."
--Emily Dickinson
